When fishing a slider rig, it is essential that the end rig is firmly anchored to the seabed using a good Breakaway grip lead. Keeping a tight line to the rod tip is critical for the slider to work correctly.

In match fishing, only three hooks are permitted. If you are fishing two hooks on your distance rig, then only one hook is allowed on the slider rig.
